Chinese Courts Sentences Infamous Myanmar Scam Mafia Members to Capital Punishment

A Chinese judicial body has handed down death sentences to five prominent figures of a well-known Burmese mafia to death as Beijing maintains its crackdown on scam operations in the region.

Overall, 21 clan figures and partners were found guilty of fraud, homicide, assault and additional crimes, stated a official announcement released on the court portal.
