LA Erupts in Jubilation as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels experienced citywide festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined local residents in jubilation, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area events featured a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Angelenos flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.
The procession path concluded at the stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube driving a Pacific blue classic car around the field.
Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses
Celebrations began prior to the parade, with supporters setting off fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the victory.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto said. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”

In contrast, Mark Walter received a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event seem to depict him taking the stage to a mix of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
