The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a solidarity show held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of prominent voices from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The single blends a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the initiative have clarified that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These donations will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative said. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of buildings described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
